Heading up the Blue Ridge Parkway on 276 is Looking Glass Falls, a beautiful and scenic waterfall, and, Pearson’s Falls between Tryon and Saluda. A must see are the Triple Falls in the Dupont National Forest which was used in the film The Hunger Games.
The Lake Lure area is ranked by National Geographic as one of the most scenic lakes and includes a public beach and boat tours. Just minutes from Lake Lure is Chimney Rock State Park which features a spectacular rock formation and outstanding views. With three national forests nearby including Pisgah, Nantahala, and DuPont there is an opportunity for mountain biking, hiking, camping and wildlife observation. The area also has several white water rafting expeditions featuring class II and III rapids set in the beautiful mountain scenery.
Historic Hendersonville is ideally situated in Western NC with easy access to the Blue Ridge mountains and just 20 minutes from Asheville. Featured attractions include The Biltmore Estate, The Flatrock Playhouse, Miniature Railroad and Jump Off Rock. ​
